A lot of girls post about the contentment and pleasure that comes from being in this position. But being the Dom here has great contentment to it as well. Feeling another human so close to you, and humbled to you, is deeply enriching. To feel their satisfaction at being with you, their need to be close to you and there desire to be shielded by you brings a peace in itself. Its a very deep, and satisfying, expression of love. Of course, this image is so effective because it visually expresses a way of being that is normally revealed in more subtle ways - the way she curls against me in bed, the way she walks too close beside me, the way she gazes at me, the playful enthusiasm that greets me when I walk in the door and the way she whines when I leave. It’s just impractical to have her naked and kneeling all the time. But I do read the message of her actions, and whilst I usually greet them gruffly and often with passing irritation, I appreciate, deeply, the underlying bond they suggest. To be known and accepted (despite all the Darkness), to be loved and desired, to be worshipped and yearned for… it heals one’s sense of self, creates a pattern for self love, inspires a deep-down contentment. As a Dom I obviously greatly enjoy the moments of amusement, violence, pleasure and orgasm. I like to see my Will done, my power extended, and to feel my body filled with pleasure. These moments are terrific, but sadly relatively fleeting. What stays, day to day, week to week, month to month, is the knowledge of acceptance, love and admiration. In the long run, for all of us, sub or Dom, vanilla or kinky, single or coupled, our feelings about ourselves are the only things that provide real happiness. But the pure, concentrated, focussed love of another is like a searchlight that reveals where our own blocks and barriers are, what about ourselves we do not yet accept, and in what parts we deny ourselves our own love. We can learn to love ourselves through their love - and when that is done feel complete.
